Watermelon Smoothie

The natural sweetness of watermelon makes it a great fruit base for healthy smoothies. It's a great way to cool off, and to use up the plentiful supply of watermelon this time of year.

Serves 3 -- Preparation time: 5 minutes

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups seeded fresh watermelon chunks
    • 1-1/2 cups vanilla yogurt
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
    • 1/2 cup cracked ice

Directions

1 - Place all ingredients, except ice, in container of an electric blender. Top with cover and process until pureed. Add ice; blend until smooth.
